How a Decade-Long Partnership Helped This Franchise Increase Loyalty and Maturity
THE CLIENT
Ling and Louie’s
Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill is a franchise with several locations across the Western U.S. This concept is for people who want to have fun and enjoy a unique experience in the comfort of their own neighborhood. They use traditional Asian techniques and ingredients in non-traditional ways to create bold, craveable flavors that appeal to all tastes.
With an upbeat atmosphere, and friendly service, they redefine what an Asian restaurant is supposed to be.
THE CHALLENGE
As Ling and Louie’s go-to design partner, Miss Details has helped the brand tackle a variety of design and marketing challenges — at both the franchisor and franchisee level — for almost 10 years.
Most recently, they turned to our team for help with two projects:
Rebranding to create a simpler, more elegant experience, while maintaining the fun and cheekiness of their existing brand
Developing a campaign that would attract new guests and increase repeat visits
THE SOLUTION
What started as a need for simple design support quickly grew into a decade-long strategic partnership between Ling and Louie’s and Miss Details.
Years ago, Ling and Louie’s turned to our team for basic design assistance with updating their website, menus, and in-store graphics. After seeing our design talent firsthand and learning about our experience helping other franchises, the restaurant began to leverage more of our expertise.
Since then, Miss Details has served as Ling and Louie’s design partner for all of their in-store, advertising, and online marketing needs. From establishing a consistent, memorable brand, to developing creative campaigns that keep things interesting for guests, to updating their menus and marketing materials regularly, we handle all design work and keep their marketing engine running.
In 2018, Ling and Louie’s worked with Miss Details on an annual campaign to ensure the guest experience stayed fresh and exciting. To build off the restaurant’s global menu, our team developed the Passport Campaign: a 12-month campaign that featured special menu items from a different country each month. We helped create the overall campaign image, as well as design a menu, website landing page, and other materials to promote it.

While Ling and Louie’s wants to stay true to fun and edgy personality, they are also ready for their brand to evolve and mature with their guests. To reflect this change, Miss Details worked with Ling and Louie’s to rebrand their franchise. The new brand maintains the firecracker personality they are known for, while feeling more elegant and refined.
THE RESULTS
With Miss Details by their side, Ling and Louies has matured as a brand and built a strong base of loyal customers.
We have played a key role in maintaining a consistent look and customer experience as the brand and team have changed over time. In addition, our creative marketing strategies, such as the Passport Campaign, have attracted new guests and loyal repeat visitors. In fact, Ling and Louie’s has such loyal guests that the franchise kept a once-closing location open due to overwhelming pleas from diehard fans.
Ling and Louie’s is also excited to roll out the new brand Miss Details created (including menus, decor, signage, and more) to all locations. We are looking forward to seeing the success of this rebrand and continuing to grow with Ling and Louie’s every step of the way.
